Required Skills:
General skills include proficiency with Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal theory at a discrete level in support of circuit card design.
Should have solid understanding of software design/debug and analog/digital/mixed signal circuit analysis.
Proficient knowledge of analog, digital, mixed signal hardware and software design/debug including use of using Capture, PCB layout tools.
C/C++/C# Programming and manufacturing functional test automation and / or related experience.
Should also be highly knowledgeable in the manufacturing processes used for circuit cards of moderate/high complexity.
NI Lab Windows CVI/Teststand, JTAG, SQL, FPGA design, HDL, and functional/timing simulation experience.
Purpose:
To perform the professional electronic technical work which requires a highly diversified application of engineering principles, theories, concepts and precedents.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs professional technical assignments independently and/or coordinates the work of other engineers in the professional technical analysis, design or test on one or more complex components, circuits or functional systems of company products requiring the full use and wide application of established engineering principles, theories, concepts and precedents in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines.
Conducts research / design tasks in areas, which require a moderately high level of expertise and knowledge in areas of specialization and some related fields.
Provides solutions to a wide range of technical problems by drawing on his own areas of technical specialty and consulting with other engineering specialists for technologies where he does not have in-depth expertise. Makes independent decisions based on available data, selection of materials and required parameters.
Evaluates plans and criteria for technical activities in his specialty and recommends alternatives as required to comply with customer and company obligations. May lead projects or segments of major projects responsible for achievement of schedule, fiscal and technical performance objectives.
Assignments are broad and will include development of new design / test techniques; development and evaluation of plans and procedures; theoretical computations and analysis; design and development of equipment with many complex features; testing of procedures, equipment, materials; makes extensive contributions to proposal efforts; responsible for the conduct and performance of assignments.
Reviews and coordinates work of assistants / team members to ensure progress is maintained to achieve specified aims; interprets and directs the preparation of data for reports on technical findings, recommendations, accomplishments and progress measured against specific plans.
Attends and drives engineering meetings representing assigned activity.
Has breadth and depth of knowledge in area of specialization and a few other related fields. Is cognizant of developments in the remaining related fields.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering from an accredited college or university or its equivalent and usually a minimum of eight (8) years work experience; or a Master's Degree and seven (7) years experience; or a Ph.D. with four (4) years experience.
